Hey there! How are you holding up?
Truth be told, times are hard. It has been challenging for everyone. It’s been a rollercoaster back-to-back. While we were yet to recover from the first hit of subsidy removal, another blow followed below the belt! It was as if the country stood still. Our main roads were deserted, with scanty vehicular movements here and there. People now litter our roads like wood shavings in a poultry house, trekking from point A to point B. It’s been a national walkathon.
Similarly, the naira has not fared well against the dollar. After every initial gain comes a banging crash; it’s like taking a step forward and taking five backward. As a country that depends heavily on importation, inflation has been on the rise. Prices of goods and services are on the high side, but salaries have remained the same. People are barely surviving. Times are hard, and people we least expected to be affected in any way are dying in silence because they can’t bring themself to ask for urgent 2k.
Amid our current reality, I just wanted to say hi. How are you? How are you holding up? This too shall pass. Till then, be very deliberate with your finances. Above all, if God has been kind to you, be kind to one person. If I pick one, he picks one, she picks one, and they also pick one each, the pangs of our current reality will be assuaged in our immediate environment.
Let love lead.
No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of another.
Charles Dickens
